Robert
Shelton is a co-author of the book, Making Innovation
Work (2006). This book challenges the prevalent misconceptions
about innovation and lays out the tools and processes
necessary for an organization to harness and execute
innovation. Mr. Shelton has spent his entire professional
life working on innovation. Presently Mr. Shelton is
a Director and a leader of the innovation practice at
PRTM Management Consultants. With over thirty years
experience Mr. Shelton has assisted leading government
organizations and companies around the world. He specializes
in developing and integrating innovative business models
and new technologies to create valuable new business
opportunities for his clients. Recently, he co-edited
The Creative Enterprise (Praeger, 2007), a three-volume
compilation that integrates insights from the fields
of management, economics, technology, psychology, and
sociology to cover the spectrum across individual and
organizational innovation.
Mr.
Shelton has been a speaker on innovation in Asia, the
US, and Europe. Mr. Shelton has been a keynote speaker
on innovation and business strategy to a range of senior
executive audiences at leading corporations around the
world and at the House of Commons, Stanford University
Executive Program, University of California Executive
Program (Berkeley), European Communities, Fudan University
(Shanghai), Innovation and Technology Research Institute
(Taipei), The Conference Board (New York), FT Innovation
Forum (London), ENG Innovation Conference (Amsterdam),
and Front End of Innovation Conference (Vienna).
Mr.
Shelton’s work has received media attention from
The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, CNN Financial
News, and Tech Nation (National Public Radio). Mr. Shelton
is the co-founder and a board member of a leading technology
incubator in Silicon Valley recognized for its unique
contributions by the White House, the California’s
Governors Office, and selected as the best US business
incubator in 2008.
